The Illicit Still on Netherkirkgate scooped the Tennent’s Quality Award at the 2011 DRAM Scottish Licensed Trade Awards at a prestigious awards ceremony in Glasgow.

The pub’s assistant manager Bruce Milton said the pub’s staff were delighted to have been honoured by their industry peers.
He said: “The award was based not just on the quality of the actual pints we serve but also the warm welcome that customers receive, the atmosphere inside the pub and the friendliness of the staff. We are over the moon to have won the award.
“We have been very busy since the pub’s recent revamp but hopefully this will encourage even more people to come through the doors.”
